The latest piece of Chic from Ferragamo's Lungarno Collection opens in May 2014.  The Luxury Travel Bible caught up with the clan in Cannes in December where, during the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Lungarno celebrated the official launch by having celebrities and guests pose with a frame for their own personal 'portrait'.  The hotel is understated and elegant in shades of white and grey, with black and white photography on the walls. Outside by contrast Florence glows gold and pink framed for its own portrait in the hotel windows.

 

Created by Florentine architect Michele Bönan, the hotel is on the banks of the Arno, right next to Ponte Vecchio and a Ferragamo-shod step from Piazza della Signoria. The hotel is in a prime position and with only 34 suites and guestrooms it feels like a private house.

The Lungarno collection described itself as 'Traditionally Italian, yet beautifully international, just like its founder, Salvatore Ferragamo'. We have to agree.
